Heath Franklin’s Chopper: Live at Pentridge
HM Prison Pentridge – Australia's most famous gaol; steeped in mythology and mystique, whose occupants count amongst Australia’s most notorious criminals, from Ned Kelly, Mark ‘Chopper’ Read and Ronald Ryan, to Derryn Hinch.
During the comedy festival, ‘Chopper’ is breaking back into Pentridge, and this time there are no screws, no curfews and no bars to hold him back.
In a case of art imitating life intimidating art with a blow torch and bolt cutters, Heath Franklin brings his much loved comedy character ‘Chopper’ to the halls of D-Division. He will be performing his critically acclaimed live show 'Make Deadshits History' for a special encore performance to be filmed for DVD release. Make Deadshits History toured Australia for 9 months in 2008, playing to over 40 cities and regional centres, and selling over 50,000 tickets.
Officially closed in 1997, the gates of the ‘Bluestone College’ will open once more for 6 shows only, offering a rare chance for the public to go behind bars and see the man doing what he does best, where it all began, for a night of shankin’, stabbin’ comedy, at the newly renovated Pentridge Village.
So sharpen your toothbrush, grab your gang and sentence yourself to a night of laughter without parole, and be in the audience for a once in a lifetime comedy event - Heath Franklin's Chopper: Live at Pentridge.
