THE CHASER’S LEAST ARRESTED MEMBER IS COMING TO ADELAIDE.
Chris Taylor, best known as one of the main brains behind The Chaser team, is coming to Adelaide in 2013 to give the inaugural Adelaide Fringe lecture, which with typical modesty he has named after himself.
The Taylor Lecture will offer punters a rare opportunity to see the star of The Hamster Wheel and The Chaser’s War On Everything perform without the benefit of an autocue for the very first time.
“I’ve always loved Adelaide,” said Taylor’s press release writer. “It’s the only place in the world that let Lance Armstrong keep his keys to the city, so I figure they won’t have any problems letting me in as well.”
Taylor says The Taylor Lecture will be similar to other famous lectures such as The Boyer Lectures and The Olle Lecture in that, like those, it will feature a lectern and someone standing behind it.
“That’s not to say I won’t sometimes stand just to the side of it,” said a second press release writer, while the first press release writer went out to get coffees. “I’ll be mixing it up. Sometimes I might even stand slightly in front of the lectern. I like to keep things unpredictable.”
The lectern itself declined to be interviewed for this press release. But others were more forthcoming:
The Taylor Lecture will be presented for three nights only at the Paradiso Spiegeltent on March 9-11. Entry is open to everyone, except Nicole Cornes, who evidently doesn’t have a sense of humour
